Our Hiring Process
Tek Experts is dedicated to providing the most transparent, inclusive, and supportive hiring experience for potential candidates. Our process has been tailored with your success in mind — we want you to shine! The best way to do that is to know what to expect and how to prepare for each stage.
The very first step begins with you. Take a moment to dig deep — reflect on your skills, experiences, and what you’ve enjoyed the most in your studies and/or your career so far. Then, start the search to find the ideal job that brings all of those things together.
HOW TO PREPARE
Here are a few self-reflection questions to kickstart your exploration to finding your ideal career path:
- What are my main interests?
- What are my skills?
- What are my talents and my strengths?
- What is my ideal work environment?
- How do I prefer to work (alone or in a team for example)?
- What are my values?
- What do I want to achieve in my professional life?
Now that you’ve found the ideal job (or jobs— you are welcome to apply for more than one position) it’s time to craft a resume specific to the role. We know how much time and effort this takes. Below you’ll find a few tips to ensure your resume truly reflects your individuality, unique skills, and experiences.
HOW TO PREPARE
Learn Our Company Values
Spend some time getting to know us, our mission, and what we stand for. This is when your research skills come into play. Check out news articles that might mention us, read our blogs, and visit our career site. All of this will help you understand what we do and what we value as a company.
Pay Attention to the Job Advert
Customize your resume and cover letter to the specific position you’re applying for. In your preparation, highlight keywords or phrases in the job description and use those in your application.
The more your resume reflects the job ad, the more you will stand out to the recruiter as someone who has what it takes to do the job. This may mean having multiple versions of your resume, but it will be worth the extra effort.
The assessments are an opportunity to showcase how tech-savvy you are, your English skills, how you like to learn, and what motivates you. The assessments give us an indication of how we can best support you when you join our team. We want to provide you with the best training to be successful at your job!
HOW TO PREPARE
There’s no need to study before the assessments — they are simply an opportunity for you to demonstrate what you already know. If you’re successful and invited to an interview, the questions will be tailored to fit your assessment score.
It’s time to get to know each other! Your resume has caught our eye and you’ve received an invitation to first meet with a recruiter and then the rest of the team. This will be your chance to “wow” us with your personal experiences and skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have about our company and/or the job.
It’s exciting getting to the interview stage for your dream job, but for many of us, interviews can be a nerve-wracking experience. The best way to beat the butterflies is to be prepared. Whether you’re invited to an on-site or video interview — our tips below will help you prepare for both.
HOW TO PREPARE
Know Your Audience
It’s a good idea to learn our story as it will show that you’re truly interested in Tek Experts and the position you applied for. Plus, it will impress interviewers with your knowledge!
Here are a few areas you can research beforehand:
- services and clients
- the interviewers
Anticipate Interview Questions
Think about what questions your interviewers may ask about you and the role. Rehearse your answers by practicing with others, in front of a mirror, or even recording yourself. And, remember, body language is equally important as what you say.
Here are a few ideas to get you started…
- Tell me about yourself.
- What are your biggest professional accomplishments?
- Why are you interested in the role?
- Reflect on your career journey and how do those experiences and accomplishments best fit the role requirements and expectations?
Don’t forget to prepare some phrases you can use while you gather your thoughts.
We appreciate your desire to join the Tek Experts team, so you’ll hear from us regardless of what the news is. If we believe we’re a match, your recruiter will be in touch to extend an offer and provide all the information you need to begin the onboarding process. They will explain all the background and reference checks and help you prepare for your first day with Tek Experts.
If we don’t extend an offer this time around, don't feel discouraged. We often have to make very tough decisions between excellent talent. It could simply be a matter of timing. We encourage candidates to try again. With your permission, we will save your information, and should a role open that we think you’re a good match for, we’ll be in touch.

We understand the importance of knowing that your job is safe and how that enables you to do your best work. Tek Experts is a stable yet fast-growing company with ambitious plans and we want you to be part of our success for the long term.
We all know that, in the tech industry, things move pretty quickly! That’s why we train our people on the most up-to-date technologies, providing them with skills that are going to be in demand for years to come. Pick out the most important words and/or phrases from the job description, the role responsibilities, and requirements. Using the terminology from the job listing in your resume will help you stand out to the recruiter.
List Relevant Experience
You don’t need to have worked in the exact role before, you just need to show that you have the knowledge needed to make you effective at this particular position. List any tasks or duties you performed at previous jobs that show you’re capable and ready for the role’s responsibilities.
Easy to Read
The layout and design of your resume can be just as important as the content. Choose an easy-to-read font, use clear headings and try to have a balance between text and white space. Consistency is also a key element, especially when listing your work experience.
Dress to Impress
Dress professionally but comfortably. When you feel good you feel confident! This goes for video interviews too.
Video Set Up
Make sure you have saved the link or the conference call number, then set up your interview station in a quiet area with no background noise. Give your equipment and internet connection a test beforehand to ensure everything is in perfect working order.
Show us the person beyond the resume! We want to get to know the real you. Tell us what makes you unique, what makes you tick, or what type of work environment you thrive in.
